Animal Care Facility
At Rossmore Vet Centre, our Animal Care Facility is more than just a holding space, it’s a place of healing, hope, and second chances.
We proudly partner with Canterbury-Bankstown, Liverpool, and Camden Councils to care for lost, surrendered, and sometimes mistreated animals from across the region. From the moment they arrive, every animal is treated with patience, love, and expert care by our compassionate shelter team.
Whether they’re dogs, cats, small pets, birds, or even livestock like sheep and goats — our goal is to give each animal the best possible outcome.
Every Animal Deserves a Chance
Some of the animals we care for are quickly reunited with their owners, while others are sadly abandoned, mistreated, or simply never claimed. Regardless of their background, we provide:
- Daily feeding and clean shelter
- Medical assessments and veterinary care when needed
- Emotional care and socialisation
- Safe, temporary housing
When it’s time, many animals find new forever homes through adoption or are transferred to trusted non-profit rescue organisations for rehoming.
How You Can Help
We’re always grateful for support from our local community. If you’d like to help the animals in our care, our facility is in need of the following donations:
- Towels and blankets
- Dog coats
- Plastic wading pools
- Newspapers
- Pet treats

Shelter Operating Hours
The animal care facility is open 7 days a week (excluding public holidays):
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
